Ankit Agarwal

Ankit Agarwal, MD

University of North Carolina Chapel Hill

Graduate of Boston University's BA/MD Program

Ankit is a resident physician in Radiation Oncology at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in July of 2017. Ankit was admitted to several BA/MD programs in high school and graduated with a BA, MD, and MBA from Boston University. With over 8 years of professional admissions advising experience, he has worked with students across the country to help them gain admission to top medical schools. Ankit enjoys working with students, and he tutors professionally for the USMLE when he is not editing essays for The Perfect Med. In addition, Ankit has also published over 20 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and has presented at numerous national medical conferences on medical education topics ranging from medical student mentorship to the teaching of oncology in medical schools.

Stephanie Wong

Stephanie Wong, MD

University of Rochester Medical Center

Graduate of Boston University's BA/MD Program

Stephanie is an Otolaryngology resident physician at the University of Rochester. She has been part of The Perfect Med team since its inception, and also brings years of prior experience with outside organizations counseling students about medical programs, applications, and career planning. In addition to her teaching/tutoring positions, she has published and presented on several topics ranging from medical education to quality improvement. Her honors include receiving the Serchuck Award in Medical Education.

She was personally accepted to multiple direct programs, and subsequently landed a coveted residency spot in one of the most competitive specialties. She loves to teach and work one-on-one with students and has helped students of all backgrounds gain admission to programs around the nation.

Anjali Jacob

Anjali Jacob

Current BA/MD student at Boston University

Anjali is an MD/PhD student at Boston University School of Medicine. She has years of experience in standardized test prep and admissions counseling for students from high school through medical school. Her current research involves creating stem cell based disease models to discover novel treatments for incurable lung diseases. Though now she spends most of her time in the lab, working with students has always been a bright spot in her days and she hopes to continue academic work throughout her career.

Reema Agarwal

Current Medical Scholar at Saint Louis University School of Medicine

Reema is a medical student at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. With several years of admissions advising experience, Reema loves to understand her students well in order to help them succeed. She was personally admitted to several direct medical programs across the country and other prestigious universities. She enjoys mentoring underclassmen and has served in numerous senior leadership positions, including at her pre-health club at Saint Louis University.

Arpan Patel

Arpan Patel, MD

UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine

Graduate of Penn State University's BS/MD Program

Arpan is a graduate of the straight program between Penn State University and Sidney Kimmel Medical College (formerly known as Jefferson) in 2011 and is currently a gastroenterology fellow at UCLA. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2014. Throughout his training, Arpan has always been passionate about extending a helping hand out to his peers and underclassmen for tutoring, advice, and revising essays. He has extensive experience with coaching former students through the straight medical program process and interviewing applicants for medical school and residency, which are effective tools he plans to use for his future students. After finishing his training, he will be pursuing an academic career that combines clinical research and medical education.

Ujas

Ujas Parikh, MD

New York University

Graduate of Boston University's BA/MD Program

Ujas is a Radiology resident at NYU, by way of a transitional year at the Beth Israel Deaconess/Harvard-Brockton Hospital. He completed his medical school training in the Seven-Year BA/MD program at Boston University. Throughout medical school and up until now, Ujas has dedicated his time to clinical research and quality improvement. He also has extensive experience in the realm of medical education, serving as an Admissions Representative at Boston University School of Medicine and a tutor for the USMLE examinations. He is excited to mentor students and help them ultimately achieve their career goals.

Sahej

Sahej Samra

Current BS/MD Student at Northwestern University

Sahej Samra is currently an undergraduate student at Northwestern University pursuing an economics degree. He is currently enrolled in Northwestern's BS/MD HPME program and was accepted to several other BS and BA/MD programs. He plans to matriculate into Feinberg School of Medicine at the conclusion of the upcoming academic year. Sahej has extensive tutoring experience and has privately tutored in a variety of subjects on both a high school and university level. He is currently enrolled by Northwestern's premier tutoring organization, NU Tutors, and also serves as a Peer Led Undergraduate Study mentor in various subjects. He has a strong passion for teaching/academic coaching and for helping other students excel. Sahej is involved in a variety of activities on Northwestern's campus, including the Institute for Student Business Education and NU Global Brigades. He is passionate about medicine, technology, and finance/economics. He also loves to snowboard and is a big basketball fan. He is currently researching at Feinberg, looking at how optical coherence tomography can be used to detect various ocular diseases.

Megan

Megan Gupta

Current BS/MD Student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Megan is an undergraduate student at RPI as part of the Seven-Year Accelerated Physician-Scientist Program. She enjoys balancing coursework with neuroscience research and will be attending Albany Medical College soon. She enjoys mentoring underclassmen as part of student organizations she is participating in. Megan was admitted to several direct medical programs across the country and is passionate about reading, watching TV, and hanging with friends. She is excited to work with students to achieve their goals.

Sowmya

Sowmya Varada, MD

Columbia University Medical Center

Graduate of Penn State University's BS/MD Program

Sowmya is a first year radiology resident at Columbia University Medical Center. She graduated from Sidney Kimmel Medical College in 2015 (previously Jefferson Medical College) as part of the 6-year combined BS/MD program with Penn State University. She completed medical internship at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. Sowmya has long been interested in teaching and mentoring, having worked for an undergraduate tutoring service in State College, PA, and having coached medical students for the USMLE. An experienced writer, Sowmya has also published numerous medical journal articles and articles for medical news websites including 2MinuteMedicine and MDLingo. With these skills, combined with multiple years of experience in interviewing candidates for admission to medical school, she hopes to help aspiring physicians achieve their career goals.

Stephanie Wong

Michelle Min, MD

Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

Graduate of Boston University School of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania

Michelle is a resident physician in Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She attended college at the University of Pennsylvania, invited as a Vagelos Scholar in Molecular and Life Sciences. Through this research program, she earned multiple degrees in four years: two bachelor's degrees in biology and biochemistry, a minor in history, and a master's degree in chemistry. Her master's thesis was through one of the few Howard Hughes Medical Institute laboratories. She then attended the Boston University School of Medicine for her medical degree. Throughout the years, she has been active in many pursuits, working on the editorial staff of the college newspaper, playing violin in musical organizations, serving as a student representative on the Medical Education Committee, and leading in student government; she ultimately held the position of Chair in BUSM's student government body. She has professionally tutored many students for SATs and ACTs, participated in the admissions committee at BUSM, and currently interviews for the University of Pennsylvania's college admission process. She is doing excellent work helping Perfect Med students who are pursuing traditional pathways.

Tully Cheng

Tully Cheng

Former Student of Boston University's BA/MD Program

As one of the founders of The Perfect Med, Tully studied Finance and Medical Sciences in Boston University’s 7-Year Medical Program. Midway through the program, Tully decided to make a full transition to Finance and obtained a triple major in Mathematics, Statistics, and Economics at Cornell University. Tully still loves to work with high school and college students interested in attending medical school. His students comment that Tully's ability to transform their admissions essays is exemplary! Tully also works as an Investment Associate in Prudential's Multi Asset Class Solutions Group providing asset allocation and investment solutions to international clients.
